C.S. Lewis (1898 - 1963)

 

Author C.S. Lewis was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He and J.R.R. Tolkien, who wrote The Lord of the Rings, worked together at England's Oxford University and were good friends. Lewis wrote poetry, science fiction and children's stories. His most famous book, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, is being made into a film, which should be in cinemas at the end of 2005.
